Strength training for women in Goirle.
Built for your body, your stage, and the week you actually have.
Most programs aren’t written for you.
Standard training advice assumes a body that has not been pregnant, is not leaking, is not seven months along, is not four months postpartum, and is not in the middle of a hormonal shift nobody warned you about.
So women get told to do more core work when the core is not the problem. Or to avoid lifting because it might not be safe, when strength is exactly what they need. Or to just take it easy, with no sense of for how long or what comes after.
We train women through the stages that standard advice skips.
Who We Train at Luma:
Women who are pregnant and want to keep moving safely
Women returning to exercise after birth, whether that was 6 weeks or 6 years ago
Women in perimenopause who want to build strength rather than manage decline
Women who have never lifted before and would rather learn in a quiet, cozy environment
Women who already train but keep running into pain, leaking, or pelvic pressure
Women who feel disconnected from their core & pelvic floor
What Makes Luma Different
Pressure management comes first
Every lift, push, and hold changes the pressure inside your abdomen. If that pressure is not managed well, it goes somewhere, usually down into the pelvic floor or forward into the abdominal wall. We teach you how to breathe, brace, and load without sending pressure where you do not want it. This is the piece almost nobody is taught.
The deep core is trained as a system
Your diaphragm, deep abdominals, pelvic floor, and back work together or not at all. Endless crunches train none of it, and neither do kegels. We build coordination first, then load it.
Many people have no clue what the deep core is, and education is an important part of what we do.
Programming is personalized
Seeing women at various stages of life means that everyone needs something different - so we make sure your plan reflects that.
Pregnancy training changes by trimester.
A postpartum return needs scaffolding.
Perimenopause calls for heavier loading for the sake of muscle and bone.
Real life is taken into account
A perfect program you can’t do is worth nothing. We build around the time, energy, and sleep you actually have, not the version of your life where all three are plentiful.
Sometimes this means creating alarms on various electronics, incorporating exercise “snacks” into your routine, or embedding functional exercises into your everyday tasks.
The Gym Space
Photos coming soon!
Training happens in our gym space on the ground floor in Goirle, about ten minutes from central Tilburg. It is private, heated in winter, cooled in summer, and set up with everything we need.
No waiting for equipment. No music you did not choose. Nobody watching while you learn something new.
How it Works
Sessions are typically 45 minutes, one to one.
Your first session is where we look at how you move, breathe, and load, and talk through your history, your symptoms, and what you want your body to be able to do. You will train in that same session, and you will leave knowing what we are working on and why.
Start with an assessment
Book sessions one at a time if you want flexibility, or take a package if you know you are in it for a stretch. Packages work out cheaper per session and save you rebooking every week.
Check out our pricing list for more information.
Then choose what fits
Some women train with us weekly. Others come every other week and do the rest on their own. Some book a handful of sessions to learn how to train safely and then go and do exactly that. We will tell you honestly what we think will get you where you want to go.
How often is up to you
Your program is written for you and changes as your needs & goals change.
This is training, not medical care. We do not diagnose, and we do not treat injuries or conditions.
If something we see needs a huisarts, a fysiotherapeut, or a bekkenfysiotherapeut, we will say so. We are glad to train alongside whatever they recommend.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes, in almost all cases. If your verloskundige or arts has given you restrictions, bring them and we will work within them.
-
Gentle work (breathing & pressure management) can begin immediately, and you do not need clearance to start breathing and coordination work.
For loading and impact we build up in stages, based on how your body responds rather than a fixed date on a calendar.
-
Then this is exactly the right place to be! Leaking with exercise is common, but not normal. It is not something you have to accept or train around forever and we can make a huge difference here at Luma!
-
Yes. Babies are welcome, and we will work around feeds.
Toddlers are a bit trickier because the gym space is not quite safe for them. Please reach out if you need to bring your toddler so I can make the space as safe as possible.
-
No, everything is here. Wear something you can move in and bring a water bottle.
-
Good! You will learn it properly the first time, without picking up habits we have to undo later.
-
I do not work with powerlifters at this time. Our equipment only goes so high, but for the non-powerlifter it’s perfectly fine to work with.
-
Absolutely, that’s how Luma works! Rather than separating out myofascial release and personal training, we see them as tools that work beautifully together. Each session can include both, or one, or can change at the last minute depending on how you’re feeling or what your goals are that day.
